In a previous article, we talked about the first three steps you should do when getting ready for a summer party. A summer party can be a great and fun activity, but when you’re hosting you want to make sure your home looks its best.
The third step we talked about was hiring a professional carpet cleaning service before your guests arrive. This helps to make everything in your home look fresh and new.
Now let’s talk about the second three steps.
Step #4: Clean the windows inside and out. Using ammonia-based window cleaner or water and vinegar, you should clean the windows in your home inside and out. You can use a squeegee or newspapers, but avoid using paper towels as this can cause streaking. Check the windows when the sun is shining through to ensure that you clean them as thoroughly as possible.
Step #5: Begin preparing the food the day before. Even if your guests won’t be arriving until two or three in the afternoon, time can get away from you very quickly when you’re trying to prepare 1 million different things. Make sure all the cleaning is done prior to at least the day before the party and begin focusing on food preparation.
Clean the dishes and other utensils as you are finished using them so you don’t have a massive pile to clean up later.
Step #6: Give the floors a once over the morning of your party. Now that you’ve had your carpets professionally cleaned, take an opportunity to run the vacuum cleaner over them quickly, along with the hardwood floors and area rugs, to make sure everything looks exactly the way you want them to.
