You may be just like almost every other homeowner or renter throughout the Greater Toronto Area and can’t really stand cleaning all that much. You like a clean home environment, keeping your workspace relatively neat, but the process of actually cleaning is not something you enjoy.
If that’s the case, there’s nothing wrong with it. There are many people (most, actually) who can’t really stand the process of cleaning. However, they can’t stand living in filth or disorganization even more.
One of the major problems people face that cause them to dislike cleaning so much is their perspective.
Changing perspective can have a direct impact on how you view cleaning itself. Below are a few tips that can change your perspective and help you see cleaning as less something you want to dread and avoid as much as possible and more something to do to benefit your life and physical and even emotional health.
1. Clean gradually. Instead of waiting until the weekend when you’re home from work to clean the entire house, do a different room every day. If you spent just 15 or 20 minutes a day cleaning a different room, by the time the weekend rolls around you will have a completely clean house and you’ll be able to spend your time off from work on the weekend actually enjoying life.
2. Dust for five minutes a day. If you just quickly wipe down the ceiling fans, the window sills, and even the radiator vents for just five minutes a day, you won’t have to do this more than once a month. That will reduce the impact of allergens, dust, bacteria, and other particles getting into the year air, affecting your health.
3. Hire a professional cleaning service. A professional cleaning company can be a lot more affordable than you realize. You could go to work and then come home at the end of the day and find your home sparkling clean with almost nothing left for you to do aside from your laundry.
If you can’t stand cleaning, don’t worry … there are alternatives.
