Some say that cleanliness is godliness. While that may or may not be true, the cleaner that you keep your home, the better you feel. It’s been proven through a lot of research studies through the years.
Getting a clean home can be challenging, though, especially if you feel that you are too busy and are constantly on the go. We have put together 4 steps that anyone can take that will help them clean their home and keep it clean (it’s one thing to clean and another thing entirely to keep up with that cleanliness).
1. Start small.
One of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they look at the entire house, try starting wherever they can, and then get overwhelmed. This usually leads to quitting early or only do a basic cleaning.
Pick a room and begin with small things. Put items away or in the proper rooms (or drawers). Avoid getting into the heavy dusting first. Start with a small project.
Once you complete the small project, you’ll feel better and that will inspire you to go on to another room or project.
2. Dust before you vacuum.
Far too many homeowners throughout Toronto vacuum as one of the first cleaning projects. If you vacuum first, when you dust you’re just going to be kicking all of that dust, dirt, and debris onto the carpeting.
Make vacuuming one of the last things that you do to clean your home.
3. Choose cleaning products that are safe.
This refers to safety of your furniture and home as well as for your family. Some cleaning chemicals are highly effective but they can cause bleaching or staining of carpeting or wood surfaces and they can also be dangerous to breathe in.
There are plenty of highly effective cleaning materials on the market that are not only effective, but that are also environmentally safe and also safe for our health.
4. Avoid comparing your home to anyone else’s.
Sure, Mrs. Diamond down the street spends most of her week dusting, wiping down the counters, and vacuuming. You have a life and don’t want to spend all of your time chasing down every dust molecule.
Keep your home clean based on your standards, not someone else’s. If you don’t have the time to keep up with your home, call a professional cleaning service and they can take over where you leave off.
