Trying to keep your home clean may feel, at times, like a losing battle. No matter how often you vacuum, sweep the floors, and dust, it doesn’t seem to make that much of a difference. In truth, it’s important to realize that more than 80 percent of the dust inside your house is the product of dead skin cells. Unless you kicked everyone in your family out of the house, including yourself, you’re simply going to have to deal with dust and dirt.
That doesn’t mean you have to concede the battle to all of those dirt particles and collections of dust. Take charge and do the following three things to help make a significant difference in how much dirt gets tracked into your house a regular basis.
1. Dust from top down with the right type of material. Simply wiping a surface down with a paper towel isn’t going to do much. That’s just moving the dust back into the air. Use an ionic charged duster or other material that traps dust. You may also consider spraying the furniture surfaces and then wiping them up to reduce the amount of dust that gets kicked up into the air.
2. Have people remove their shoes when they step inside. A lot of dirt that gets tracked into your home is getting carried in on the bottom of people shoes. When you have them remove their shoes this and they step in the door, you’re immediately reducing the amount of dirt that gets tracked in and spread around.
3. Rely on a carpet cleaning service every three months six months. When you have a professional carpet cleaning service come into your home every six months to thoroughly clean all of the carpeting in your house, it’s immediately going to cut down on the amount of dirt and dust that gets kicked up in the air. Your vacuum simply isn’t enough to remove all of those dust particles, allergens, and other pollutants from the carpet fibers. The only way to truly get them out is with a professional cleaning.
When you follow these tips, you should begin noticing a much cleaner home environment for you and the rest of your family.
